Job Summary
E.A. Bonelli is a growth-oriented architecture and engineering firm focused on the design of food, beverage, and nutritional production facilities. EAB is searching for a qualified leader to manage their mechanical and HVAC engineering team. The MEP engineering group at EAB has been the largest growth area for the firm over the past 5 years and is now ready for a dedicated Mechanical Group Lead. The senior management team is looking for an individual that will be a long-term contributor to the firm and can grow into a senior leadership role.
The engineer in this role will lead both the development and growth of the mechanical engineering team and mechanical engineering design efforts of the team as its designs mechanical and HVAC systems supporting production, packaging, and distribution processes. This role involves managing engineering teams to deliver efficient, safe, and compliant mechanical solutions for food and beverage processing facilities.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring the highest quality and efficiency standards. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Engineering Team Leadership

- In collaboration with the EAB Leadership team, you will lead the mechanical engineering team including hiring, establishing professional development and performance criteria and ensuring the team and team players meet performance criteria.
- Provide technical leadership by establishing and maintaining engineering standards and procedures to enable effective and efficient engineering design, documentation, and construction oversight.
- Actively participate in engineering design activities as part of the EAB interdisciplinary design team.
- Participate in business development activities.
2. Project Leadership:

- Work with clients, their engineering teams and their process vendors to establish design criteria for mechanical, refrigeration and HVAC systems.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful completion.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to the engineering team in steam and condensate, refrigeration, hot and chilled media, compressed air, nitrogen, water supply treatment, and HVAC systems.
- Lead the design and documentation of the systems above.
- Lead and conduct quality assurance reviews.
- Develop life-cycle costs and feasibility for design options.
- Evaluate existing systems for operational improvements or available capacity for expansion.
- Determination of loads, load diversity, and capacity for future growth.
- Review alternatives for equipment and system configuration for client and project fit. Present pros and cons for each approach.
- Evaluate energy efficiency and energy recovery opportunities.
- Have thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable codes and standards.
- Participate in contractor bid review and evaluation.

3. Team Collaboration:

- Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers as needed.
- Communicate project status, challenges, and solutions to stakeholders.
- Collaboration with construction trades for constructability and value engineering opportunities.
4. Continuous Improvement:

- Identify and implement improvements in system design and operation, EAB design processes, design tools and documentation.
- Be an expert in industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices regarding the design of hygienic production environments, mechanical utilities and HVAC systems and utilize that expertise in EAB’s designs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of industrial steam, refrigeration, compressed air and HVAC systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Holland, MIWe’re hiring for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) that is a licensed professional engineer responsible for leading technical aspects of engineering projects. Structural Project Engineer

Job Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with design and analysis of structures or structural elements, providing contract administrative duties associated with the project, routine correspondence, field dimensioning, and meeting project schedules.
1. Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the development, preparation, and finalization of project documents.
- Responsible for contract administration duties, such as responding to RFI’s, and checking shop drawings / submittals.
- Designs load-bearing structures or structural elements.
- Performs analysis of building materials for use in construction.
- Develops plans and specifications for use during construction and ensures all projects comply with applicable codes and regulations.
- Determines cause of structural failures, damages, and defects through site investigations.
- Provides reports detailing investigations and assessment of damages to the structure.

Summer 2026 Electrical Engineering Intern
Beaverton, OREAB is looking for an Electrical Engineering intern to work in our Beaverton, OR office for the Summer of 2026.
In this role, you will support the design and layout of electrical power distribution systems, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm, communications, closed circuit TV camera, public address and help perform power flow, short circuit, arc flash, and lighting illumination calculations. There are many opportunities to make an impact as you work on entire system design.
- Responsibilities include:
- Design, layout and detailing of lighting and electrical power distribution for manufacturing facilities in the food & beverage industry
- Produce technical plans, specifications, drawings and models
- Work primarily with 3D BIM/Revit while managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Visit project sites to assist with measuring, data collection and construction observation
- Prepare and present technical presentations to peers, project teams and clients
2. Candidates should have/be:
- Working towards a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
